ROAD CLOSURES
The 11th Annual Arlington Police, Fire & Sheriff 911 Memorial 5K Race will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Doubletree Hotel in Crystal City with a race start time of 6:00PM.
The race is an official IRS recognized charity and has raised over $300,000 for 911 related charities which for the past five years has focused on Military related Charities helping disabled Veterans.
We realize that this race does sometimes pose a burden on residents and visitors to the Crystal Drive area. We intend to and hope to minimize this disruption. We also feel the race highlights outsiders to the new development along the Crystal Drive area.
The impact of the S. 23rd St./S. Crystal Dr. area should be minimal because this area will remain open to vehicles and the parking garages in this area will remain open.

THE RACE COURSE
The race begins at the Doubletree Hotel at 300 Army Navy Drive

The first 1.5 miles of the race are along Crystal Dr. This part of the course will then be the first to open to regular traffic. The runner’s portion of this part of the race course is expected to take 20 minutes. Walkers will follow the runners.
